We're a resident campaign, not a data company, but here's exactly what happens to your details if you sign up or get in touch.

Who's Behind This

Fair Parking Newham is a resident-led campaign, not a registered company, but we're still responsible for any personal data we collect. For the purposes of data protection law, we're the "controller" of that data. You can reach us at contact@fairparkingnewham.org.uk.

What We Collect

If you sign up via our Get Involved form, we collect your name and email address (both required), and optionally the street or neighbourhood you live in and any message you leave about how you'd like to help.

If you email us directly, we receive whatever you choose to include in that message.

Why We Collect It, and On What Basis

We use your details for one thing: keeping you updated on the campaign and organising residents to respond to the Council's consultation and decision-making process. We rely on "legitimate interests" as our legal basis, since you're actively choosing to sign up for updates about a campaign you support, not being signed up without your knowledge.

How Long We Keep It

We'll keep your details for as long as the campaign is active. If the campaign concludes, we'll either delete your details or ask whether you'd like to stay on file, and we'll delete them sooner if you ask us to.

Our sign-up form runs on Google Forms, so Google processes that data on our behalf, governed by Google's own privacy policy. Because the form is embedded directly from Google, it may set cookies from google.com in your browser under Google's terms — this site itself sets none. Emails sent to our contact address are read by campaign volunteers, not shared any further.

Your Rights

You can ask us at any time to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, just by emailing contact@fairparkingnewham.org.uk. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
